Most three-year old children are focussed on playing. When Jenna was three, she started learning dance techniques at the YMM Dance Studio. At that age, she could perform amazing dance moves and do a full split! Jenna is now 8 years old and is still an active member, in her fifth season at the dance studio.
Lisa, CP Services’ HSE manager, is Jenna’s Mom. Lisa decided to put her into dancing classes for the physical activity and to develop socialization skills. To her surprise, Jenna caught the dance bug. “She would dance every second of the day. She asked me to move furniture around the house so she can have a dance wall!” says Lisa. Jenna is not just passionate at dancing; she is also very good at it! At 4 years old, she started attending dance competitions all over Alberta.
Competitions are not inexpensive. The dancers have travel costs, hotels, costumes, props, hair and make-up. Lisa started doing fund raising to support her daughter’s passion. She would sell chocolates, ice melts, bottle drives, and other activities. Seeing Jenna’s passion, CP Services decided to help out. For 5 years now, CP Services has been supporting Jenna’s journey by helping out with the fundraising.
Lisa said, “I wouldn’t be able to do it without CP Services’ support. They will buy the chocolates Jenna sells, as well as ice melts for their yard and staff housing. It’s a win-win situation and because of that, I’m able to save funds for Jenna’s dance competition and classes.”
CP Services is proud to support Jenna in her passion. We love to see young people focussed on a goal and reaching to achieve it. We look forward to watching Jenna continue her dance career and wish her continued success.
